Tracking That Works in Any Camera App, Not Just DJI's

The Osmo Mobile 7P's headline addition is the Multifunctional Module, and it solves the single biggest annoyance with smartphone gimbals: subject tracking normally only works inside the manufacturer's own app. The module brings tracking into your phone's native camera app and third-party apps too, so you are not forced into DJI Mimo to get the feature you bought the gimbal for.

The module also unlocks gesture control — show your palm to start or stop tracking, make a "V" to shoot, use a double "L" to reframe — plus a built-in fill light for low-light shooting. Its Bluetooth can pair up to two DJI Mic Mini transmitters directly, no receiver needed, which turns the gimbal into an audio hub as well.

Setup is quick: unfold, snap your phone on magnetically (no need to remove the case, up to 3.3" wide), and an intelligent sensor detects it and balances automatically. ActiveTrack 7.0 tracks body shapes without manual selection, re-acquires subjects who leave the frame using automatic zoom and gimbal movement, and Smart Capture lets you switch between multiple detected subjects with a tap.

The built-in 8.5" extension rod opens up high and low angles, a built-in tripod handles static shots, and a 1/4"-20 thread takes additional accessories. Onboard controls cover a joystick, a side zoom wheel over Bluetooth 5.3, and a triple-press trigger for selfie mode. Battery runs 10 hours, recharging in 2.5 hours over USB-C, and the gimbal can charge your phone while filming.
