The Osmo Pocket 3's defining spec is its 1-inch CMOS sensor — the same class of sensor found in premium compact cameras, and far larger than the phone-sized chips most pocket cameras settle for. That difference shows in shadow detail, highlight retention and low-light performance, where footage stays clean rather than dissolving into noise.

Sitting under it is a genuine three-axis mechanical gimbal, not electronic stabilisation. Motors physically counteract your movement, so footage stays level and fluid while walking, running or filming from a vehicle — and without the crop that digital stabilisation costs you. Multiple rotational speeds let you match the response to the shot.

The 2-inch rotatable OLED touchscreen is the interface that makes it work in practice: rotate it to switch between horizontal and vertical instantly, or tap to adjust parameters. Full-pixel fast focusing keeps quick subjects sharp, and Product Showcase mode prioritises the foreground — useful for livestreaming and demos. ActiveTrack 6.0 adds Face Auto-Detect and Dynamic Framing so you can film yourself one-handed.

Video tops out at 4K/120fps for slow motion, with normal recording in 4K, 2.7K and 1080p across 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 aspect ratios. A three-mic array handles omnidirectional stereo with wind reduction, and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect two DJI Mic 2 transmitters directly for two-person interviews. Charging hits 80% in 16 minutes, with up to 166 minutes of recording on a full charge, and the gimbal auto-locks when you power down.
