Ghost of Yōtei is the standalone successor to Ghost of Tsushima, delivering an atmospheric open-world action RPG set in northern Japan during the 1600s. Players take on the role of Atsu, a haunted mercenary seeking vengeance, exploring the region surrounding Mount Yōtei in a story of loss and reckoning.

Combat carries forward the series' fluid stance-switching swordplay while introducing new weapons and tools suited to Atsu's mercenary background, giving encounters a rougher, more improvisational edge than the previous game's more disciplined samurai duels.

Dynamic weather, shrine exploration, and side stories scattered across the region reward wandering off the main path, with the game's signature wind-guided navigation returning to point players toward their next destination without cluttering the screen with markers.
