The Kugoo A2 is deliberately not a scaled-down adult scooter. Its 150W peak motor tops out at 14 km/h — quick enough to feel genuinely exciting to a child, slow enough that a parent walking alongside can keep up and step in. That restraint is the whole design brief, and it makes the A2 a sensible first powered ride rather than something a kid grows into dangerously.
RGB LED lighting runs along the deck and stem, cycling through colours as they ride. It looks great at dusk, but it also does real work: a lit-up scooter is far easier for drivers and other people on a path to notice. The 21.6V 2.6Ah battery covers 5 to 8 km per charge, which comfortably handles a loop of the park or the ride to a friend's house and back.
Braking is handled two ways, which matters for small hands still learning. An electronic brake on the front wheel responds to a lever without needing much grip strength, while a traditional foot brake over the rear wheel gives a familiar, instinctive backup. Between the two, a child has a way to stop that suits whatever they reach for first.
