Super Mario Odyssey - Nintendo Switch
Super Mario Odyssey is a landmark 3D platformer for the Nintendo Switch that marks a return to the open-ended, sandbox-style gameplay last seen in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.
đ© The Premise
Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach once againâthis time to force her into an elaborate wedding. To stop him, Mario partners with Cappy, a spirit from the Cap Kingdom whose sister Tiara was also taken by Bowser. Together, they repair an airship called the Odyssey and set off across diverse worlds ("Kingdoms") around the globe to gather Power Moons and crash the wedding.
đź Key Features & Gameplay
-
The Capture Mechanic: By throwing Cappy at enemies, objects, and even people, Mario can possess ("capture") them and instantly gain their abilitiesâfrom controlling a massive T-Rex to flying as a Bullet Bill or swimming as a Goomba stack.
-
Sandbox Exploration: Instead of linear paths, each Kingdom is a wide-open playground packed with hidden secrets, platforming puzzles, minigames, and hundreds of collectable Power Moons needed to power your ship.
-
Versatile Movement: Combines classic moves like long jumps, wall jumps, and ground pounds with new cap-based mobility, allowing you to bounce off Cappy in mid-air to reach distant ledges.
-
Customization & Costumes: Earn regional coins in every Kingdom to buy themed outfits, hats, and Odyssey decorations at Crazy Cap shops.
-
Co-Op & Mini-Games: Supports 2-player co-op where Player 2 controls Cappy independently, along with online leaderboards for minigames like Koopa Freerunning and Balloon World.
